The New Year Rugby Roadshow kicked off in Piggs Peak yesterday. The Rugby Roadshow will take place in nine venues over the next seventeen days. SKRUM CEO and Rugby Union President, Michael Collinson kicked off the Rugby Roadshow in the town of Piggs Peak in the north of Swaziland. "Rugby coach, Naomi du Pont is the driving force behind the idea" said Collinson. "I think it is amazing what Naomi has put together and she must be congratulated for all her hard work and effort"
The venue's for the seventeen day roadshow will be as follows: Day 1, Piggs Peak in the north. Days 2 & 3, Mhlangatane in the north east. Days 4 & 5, Likima near the Mnjoli Dam. Day 6, Bhekinkhosi near Nkiyi. Days 7 & 8, Ngwazini, near Kukhanyeni. Days 9, 10 & 11, in the town of Siteki. Days 12, 13 & 14 will see Naomi move down south to the town of Nhlangano. Day 15 back up to Mbabane at the SOS Childrens Village. Day 16, Lobamba. And the the last day, day 17 will be in Naomi's home town of Malkerns. "The Roadshow will be coaching youngsters and Teacher/Coaches and the response from both the young players and teachers has been amazing. Naomi will be holding a Coaching Day on News Years Day in Likima and the participants have confirmed they will be there. It's just marvellous and I, the SKRUM Programme and the Swaziland RUgby Union must say a huge thank you to Naomi for her committment" said Collinson.
