SKRUM Update

Following a number of requests from many SKRUM supporters, we have decided to give a update of the SKRUM Programme and our achievements to date. As of today September 8th the SKRUM Development Coaches have visited 342 schools within Swaziland and introduced the SKRUM Programme and the game of Rugby. We have reached over 27,360 young Swazi's between the ages of 7-19 with the SKRUM message. The coaches have also painted 'Sipho' the SKRUM logo on walls of 91 schools.

5 volunteers have joined us in Swaziland so far this year to help with SKRUM with a further 2 joining us in November/December. 2,000 "PASS THE BALL NOT THE VIRUS" bumper stickers (1,000 in English 1,000 in SiSwati) have been stuck on cars, minibuses, trucks and buses throughout the country, carrying the SKRUM message to all corners of Swaziland. November will see us kicking off SKRUM Uganda in western Uganda. SKRUM Trustee Nigel Larcombe-Williams will be visiting Uganda in December on a fact finding mission and to ensure all is running smoothly. Nigel will then fly to Kenya to meet with the Kenya Rugby Union President to discuss the possibility of SKRUM Kenya.

The Development Coaches from Swaziland have been invited to Dobsonville in Soweto to introduce the SKRUM Programme into Soweto schools. SKRUM Soweto will kickoff in late October.

Everyone here at the SKRUM Programme would like to thank all of the people who have supported SKRUM with their donations of money, Rugby kit, balls and most important, their time. Without your unfailing generosity and support, what we do here at SKRUM would not be possible. Again, THANK YOU
