Swaziland Women's Rugby on Facebook

Following a meeting between Naomi du Pont and a number of women rugby players, today a Facebook page was created just for women's rugby in Swaziland. 'Swaziland Women's Rugby' was launched at the SKRUM offices amid huge smiles from all concerned. "This is perfect timing for the Facebook page. With the Scrumqueens/SKRUM partnership it is a perfect forum for getting the SKRUM and rugby message out to females of all ages within Swaziland" said du Pont.

Scrumqueens/SKRUM Programme Partnership

Women's rugby website Scrumqueens has nominated the SKRUM Programme as its charity of the year for 2012. Scrumqueens.com founder Ali Donnelly said: "We're really pleased to join forces with SKRUM this year, a charity who do some fantastic work through rugby. This project will help contribute invaluable funding to a very worthy cause which also has a strong women's rugby link with lots of schoolgirls being introduced to the game through the SKRUM Programme...

 

 

 

 

Movember for SKRUM at Hackney Rugby Club

..A number of male members at Hackney Rugby Club in London decided to grow a moustache during the month of November to raise funds for the SKRUM Programme. SKRUM CEO Michael Collinson couldn't hold back a broad smile when he received the news "Gentlemen, I admire you for your committment to help the SKRUM Programme. And good luck with the growing" said a bemused Collinson

Great night had by all at SKRUM London event

And what an exciting night it was to be. Over two hundred people attended the function held at Brewers Wharfe. Speacial guest speakers on the night were Welsh Rugby Legend Graham Price and the latest SKRUM ambassador the Welsh and Lion's scrumhalf Mike Phillips.

Volunteers meet Sports Council CEO

Mavuso welcomed the volunteers to Swaziland and thanked them for their support and committment to working with the SKRUM Programme and rugby in the Kingdom.

On hand to assist Michael were SKRUM UK trustees Nigel Larcombe-Williams and Seb Lauzier.

Marlborough who are presently on a Rugby tour in South Africa arrived in the Kingdom on Thursday.

Rugby Football Lodge raise 500.00 pounds for SKRUM

Paul Collinson receiving the 500.00 pound cheque from David SomersPaul Collinson receiving the 500.00 pound cheque from David SomersThe Rugby Football Lodge held their first 'Sportsman's Dinner' at the Masonic Hall, Greenhead Road, Huddersfield when over 120 attended and were entertained by David Howes, the former Rugby League Secretary who assited as MC for the evening and Sky Sports Rugby League commentator Mike 'Stevo" Stephenson the former Shaw Cross, Dewsbury and Great Britain International player.  Mike also played down under in Australia for Penrith Panthers.
